Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden
Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is set in 130 acres of woodland with a private broad where boat trips run in the Summer. The garden is organically managed and minimal amounts of machinery are used in order to reduce our carbon footprint. The garden is home to an enormous variety of wildlife, from butterflies to otters and deer. Over 95 species of migrant birds have been spotted and we have many varieties of butterfly including some rare species. We have the UK’s largest collection of candelabra primulas. We also have a large number of Rhododendrons Azaleas, Wood Anemones Skunk Cabbage and Gunnera (giant rhubarb plant).
The kingfisher tearoom which opened in July 2008 was designed with the environment in mind including a ground source heat pump and two rain water harvesters. The tearoom offers everything from a cup of tea to three course meal and is open all day.
