Project Description

Better reporting is important for the hospitality industry. Corporate clients have a focus on continuous improvement and that means ensuring suppliers are supporting broader sustainability goals both social and environmental. Businesses and consumers would like to know that their hotels of choice are part of the solution and are reducing their impacts. Details of social actions are also important. The Radisson Blu Edwardian Group raised over £23,750 for various charities in 2013-14 including Asthma UK, a childrens charity in Uganda and Shooting Stars. In addition their contribution to the World Childhood Foundation was £52,618 in 2013.

Cost Savings

10% saving in carbon footprint from 2009 to 2013. Over 5,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum

Investments

The group has made some significant investments from LED lighting and sensors to heat recovery and Combined Heat and Power

Payback

In general projects are costed and invested on energy savings which have a 5 year payback or less

Benefits

The carbon emission benefits are important and help the business drive increased occupancy whilst reducing overall energy use. These have tangible cost savings. If 5,000 tonnes of carbon are saved on typical gas costs alone the cost saving becomes £400,00
