The Wild Boar Inn, Grill and Smokehouse is packed with character and perfectly located in the ancient Gilpin Valley, close to Windermere, at the heart of the Lake District. Oak beams, cosy candlelight and open fire are complemented by the warmest welcome. A coaching inn since the 16th century, The Wild Boar takes its name from the local legend of Sir Richard de Gilpin who bravely slayed a particularly ferocious wild boar close by.
The bedrooms in The Wild Boar range from classic to luxury with recently refurbished individually designed feature and luxury grade rooms. Meanwhile, The Grill delivers a delectable hearty and modern British menu, championing a whole host of local produce and seasonal ingredients from some of the best producers in the region.
