We ran a high profile Advent prize draw in the run up to the festive season – our biggest to date, with £20,000 worth of high quality prizes, all donated by Green Tourism members, up for grabs.
The prizes ranged across a wide selection, mirroring the many different sectors and member businesses of Green Tourism, from mini-breaks in luxury country house hotels to glamping weekends, adventure experiences and the ultimate afternoon tea. The calibre of the prizes was superb and created a real stir online, with a phenomenal 80,000+ entries, 320,000 Facebook impressions and 7,000+ Facebook engagements.
This was a brilliant way of raising the profile not just of Green Tourism itself, but crucially of the participating hospitality businesses, who for the ‘in kind’ prize donation received a massive level of publicity and online name checks – with not a penny spent on advertising – excellent value for them and overall a tremendously effective campaign.
