The Kings Manor Hotel is Edinburgh at its most relaxed. The vibrant city centre is less than five miles away, the sea is a few minutes stroll, and the glorious North Berwick coast stretches as far as the eye can see to the east. If that’s not enough, the wild moors of the Pentland and Lammermuir Hills beckon from the south.
Yet here in the leafy seaside suburb of Portobello, you have time and space for yourself – for a long, leisurely weekend, for clear-headed business, or for a once-in- a-lifetime special occasion.
The Kings Manor is a place apart – a luxurious 3-star hotel with everything you could wish for on site. In this former convent, the mood of service and selflessness is enduring. Nothing is too much trouble. Our friendly smile and reassuring touch carry you from conference suite to beauty spa to restaurant – and finally to bed and the most peaceful of nights between crisp white linen.

In Princes Street, look for the stops for Lothian Buses service 44. You’ll find them on the shops side of the street at the junctions with Castle Street and Frederick Street, and opposite the Scott Monument ( at Jenners Department Store side door on South St Davids Street). Buses run roughly every 15 minutes, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Just ask the driver to let you know when to get off. Or you could take the Lothian Bus Service numbers 113 from Waterloo Place
From Edinburgh Waverly Station, take the crossrail service to Brunstane. The trip takes just 7 minutes. Leave the station on the Brunstane Road South side. Turn left, and walk to the end of the road (about 300 metres), then turn right on to Milton Road East. The hotel is about 300 metres on your right.
If you’re approaching Edinburgh from the west, follow the A720 city bypass all the way to the A1. At that point, turn left to join visitors coming in from the east on the A1. Continue on the A1 for a mile and a half. Cross the Asda roundabout. At the first set of lights, turn right on to the A199. The hotel is on the right-hand side of the road after about 330 metres. There’s plenty of parking space.
Edinburgh International Airport is on the west side of the city. A taxi takes about 30 minutes. Or you could catch the airport bus or tram to the city centre and pick up the local bus or rail service from there.
