The Scottish Borders
Bread Matters runs inspiring, practical and authoritative bread making courses. Whether you are a complete beginner getting started with Daily Bread, an experienced professional developing your artisan skills, or are wanting to study sourdough, wheat-free or gluten-free in more depth, there is a course to suit you.
It’s a hands-on experience. As well as having a lot of fun in a wonderful location, you will learn everything you need to know about fermentation and the various ways to make honest-to-goodness bread, under the expert guidance of Andrew Whitley, leading artisan bakery teacher and co-founder of the Real Bread Campaign.
Courses take place in the studio kitchen at Macbiehill Farmhouse, with its lovely views over the organic smallholding that provides fuel and food, to the Broughton hills. The hospitality is welcoming. The food is fresh, seasonal and organic.
