Cartmel Holiday Cottages
Two secluded, detached and characterful two-bedroom non-smoking cottages, one in its own grounds and one with walled garden in the quiet of Cartmel valley, perfect for those who want a relaxing holiday in calm surroundings. Thoughtfully and sustainably furnished and maintained, attracting consistently positive feedback. One is a farmworker’s cottage refurbished to a high standard, alone in farmland, with large walled garden and panoramic views south of Cartmel valley and Hampsfell to the east. The other is a Lakeland slate cottage completely renovated, hidden in a wooded garden above a tranquil pond. Its heating comes from ‘green’ ground source. Both have a double and a twin bedroom with restful and unpeopled views, great kitchens, full central heating and hot water and a super full mains pressure shower and bath, all included. Lettings from Friday, Monday or Tuesday, 3 nights minimum.
From junction 36 of the M6 it’s about 20 minutes. From Grange-over-Sands take the signs for Cartmel. From Cartmel take the main road to Newby Bridge. Leaving the village and in open farmland, take the first left turn. Follow this road past Aynsome Manor Hotel and up the hill at Greenbank. Pass Greenbank Farm on the bend and at the top bear right at the junction. Woodland Cottage is on the right, on its own in farmland without neighbours. Continuing for 400 yards there’s a driveway on the left. Once through the gate turn right immediately, climbing up the drive to the cottage’s wooded garden, where you park in the garden which overlooks the pond.
