The Floral Pavilion is at the very heart of the community and since re-opening in December 2008 the new Floral Pavilion has dedicated itself to providing the very best of entertainment and customer service for the people from Wirral and beyond, with access to an affordable, challenging and exciting programme of events and activities.

• Well over three quarters of a million (780,000) customers have enjoyed a show at the theatre over the last five years with nearly as many people again attending the venue for conferences, events or indeed just to enjoy a coffee and cake! Nearly 1.6 million customers and still counting!

• The Floral Pavilion also strives to offer opportunities for its patrons to engage with the arts, learn new skills and make new friends. The success of its in house community choir the ‘Choral Pavilion’ which now has over 90 members; its Thursday drama group and summer drama workshops for young people and the recently launched Ambassadors Scheme are testimony to the venue’s commitment to provide something to appeal to all age groups.

• The Floral Pavilion is at the very heart of the community it serves and its doors are open 7 days a week 362 days of the year. Its visitors are regularly treated to free concerts in the Florals’ Plaza and Panoramic Lounges where the theatre’s beautiful grand piano is often made available for enthusiastic musicians to give impromptu performances.

• All customers are greeted at the door by one of the theatre’s volunteer ‘welcome hosts’ who have become an integral part of the Floral team and make everybody’s visit to the venue special. From arrival to departure the theatre prides itself on making the very best impression and aims to ensure that all visitors will want to return.

• The theatre’s quality reputation has become so widespread both with customers and artists alike that it now attracts national and international tours to Wirral. The programme in the theatre has continually developed significantly over the last two years as management has responded to customer feedback and developed a strong rapport with audiences who have shown their loyalty by attending performances that they might not have considered booking for in the past. People are just as impressed with the building as they are often the performance!! The theatre’s quality reputation has become so widespread both with customers and artists alike that it now attracts national tours to Wirral that otherwise would have automatically been scheduled in a Liverpool venue.

• Efficient, helpful and friendly interaction with our customers whether that be over the telephone, face to face at the Box office or indeed via the theatre’s website is viewed as a major priority and particular emphasis is placed on training to ensure that we achieve the best possible service. The venue also ensures that it communicates regularly with its customers be that via email or post with over 10,000 customers receiving a monthly email updating them on the latest news.

• The Floral Pavilion works closely with its new neighbours at the town’s Marine Point Development and the venue’s presence has made a significant impact on the local economy, particularly the bars and restaurants. The Floral, viewed now as the oldest ‘new kid on the block’ has been responsible for initiating much of the cross marketing and joint promotional activity between businesses. It is also worth noting that this year 26% of Floral Pavilion customers came from outside Wirral.

A snapshot of Floral achievements during 2013 and 2014 include:

2013
• March : Family Dance Day – a free event in association with Merseyside Dance Initiative with workshops and dance performance for all ages. Over 630 people attended.

• April 2013 – Floral Pavilion Orchestra Pit Project was completed
The orchestral pit floor can now be raised to extend the front of the stage area. This will allow a more flexible space to receive larger shows and conferences, to allow artists and conference speakers to connect with their audience more closely.

• May – Launch of the ‘Blue Lounge’ in the venue’s Conference Centre, a new performance space for the programming of smaller concerts and theatre productions. 109 events were programmed with 9200 paying customers coming to see those events. This also has proved highly popular with all its Christmas dinner dances and a recent dining experience ‘Fawlty Towers’, completely selling out, which was brought back by public demand. Delivering 453 Theatre & Blue Lounge performances all together in 2013!

• June – Awarded Wirral Tourism’s “Attraction of the Year”2013.
