Red Hall Farm Holiday Cottages offer a choice of two newly converted eco-friendly luxury self-catering properties, peacefully situated on a ‘Farming for Wildlife’ award winning dairy and grassland farmstead, close to the North Lakeland Fells, near Wigton in the Northern Lake District.
The two holiday cottages have been lovingly renovated from a 200 year old barn and retain many of the original features including exposed brickwork, original oak beams and high ceilings. They have been finished to a very high standard. The Old Bothy sleeps 4 people (1 double & 1 twin), whilst The Old Grainstore sleeps 6 people (1 King, 1 double & 1 twin). The two properties can be rented together in order to accommodate a group of 10 people.
Guests have the opportunity to enjoy walks on the farmland and to observe the many birds and animals.
Positioned in the farmyard, from where you can watch the cows and calves in the adjoining fields and meet the friendly farm dogs, each of these cottages near Wigton has patio areas with table and chairs, plus guests have the opportunity to enjoy walks on the farmland to observe the many birds and animals. With easy access to the Lake District, just 8 miles away and the bustling town of Keswick, a 20 minute drive there are lots of things to see and do from these Bolton Low Houses cottages. Why not hire bikes and enjoy riding through the Whinlatter Forest Park or tackle Go Ape, the tree-top adventure course? For a more peaceful day, a drive from Keswick beside Derwentwater through Borrowdale is breathtaking with many spectacular spots, from where you can enjoy a picnic along the lake shore. Hadrian’s Wall and the historic county city of Carlisle with its interesting museums and galleries are within easy reach, while Silloth and the Solway coasts are fifteen minutes away.
