This Relais & Châteaux resort overlooks the mighty Pacific Ocean from vast Chesterman Beach, while nestled into a backdrop of towering, old-growth forest.

An unassuming cedar exterior is stained grey to assimilate with the surrounding ancient cedar trees, while the interior of this award-winning destination boasts a growing collection of local artpieces, completing the guest experience with creative West Coast cuisine and 240 views at The Pointe Restaurant, and an extensive menu of body therapy and esthetics at Ancient Cedars Spa. A team of international hospitality professionals is on hand to provide guest service 24 hours a day.

75 rooms and suites boast picture windows, a gas fireplace, private balcony, soaker tub (some with direct ocean views), Bose Wave Radio, and the choice of one King or two Queen beds. While some guests opt to enjoy the views from the inside, Chesterman Beach is steps away for a scenic walk on hard-packed sand. Frank Island is accessible at low tide via a tombolo jutting out from the centre of the Beach. Other activities enjoyed in and around Tofino include year-round surfing, whale watching, bear watching, birding, sea kayaking, fishing and even deep sea diving. Our Concierge is at your service for arranging a custom Tofino itinerary, in partnership with local outfitters.

Located in the heart of Clayoquot Sound, Tofino is home to surfers, artists and artisans, entrepreneurs, chefs, outdoors enthusiasts, as well as biologists, who live right where they can study the vast ecological diversity that abounds in this region, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2000. The Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve has as a guiding principle the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations philosophy “Hishuk ish ts’awalk”, or “everything is one.” This stresses the importance of recognizing and learning about the interconnections within and between ecosystems in order to promote truly sustainable local communities and economies, while protecting the environment for future generations.
