The sector leading partnership between East Lothian Council and Green Tourism positions the region as a leader in sustainable tourism and helps support your business to achieve sustainable growth.
This three-year partnership gives the first 15 businesses to apply from the region the opportunity to achieve the internationally recognised Green Tourism award, fully funded by East Lothian Council in Year 1.
There is nothing to pay for the first year for the first 15 businesses to sign up before 30th June 2026. Successful partner businesses will also benefit from preferential annual fees in Years 2 and 3.

Eligibility
- Located and trading in East Lothian
- Operate in the accommodation, hospitality, leisure or retail sectors
- Active and trading on 1st May 2025
Fees
- Year 1: FULLY FUNDED
- Year 2: 50% DISCOUNT
- Year 3: 25% DISCOUNT

Green Meetings
Our Green Meetings certification is also available for venues and those primarily focused on meetings and events.

- Year 1 fees are fully funded through support from East Lothian Council
- Years 2 and 3 are available at preferential rates (Year 2: 50% discount & Year 3: 25% discount)
- While a business can initiate their fully funded membership year at any point before 30th June 2026, the Year 2 membership fees will be due on the anniversary of first joining
- Fully funded membership is available only to the first 15 businesses to apply’ and also following the first 15 funded memberships, subsequent applicants will pay membership in full
- This offer cannot be used in conjunction with other preferred rates
- Only available to new Green Tourism or Green Meetings members who sign up from 1 May 2025 until 30 June 2026
- Existing Green Tourism or Green Meetings members who leave membership from 1 May 2025 will not be eligible to rejoin with project funding
- In all cases, acceptance onto the incentive programme is subject to the approval of the Destination client.
