15Hatfields tells an infectious story of an unrelenting commitment to sustainable causes. Since we opened our doors in 2008, our pioneering spirit for a more sustainable future has been at the core of our award-winning events venue on London’s Southbank.
Accommodating all manner of events for up to 530 guests (dependant on social distancing restrictions), our meeting rooms and conference facilities capture the innovation and eco-driven passion of our general manager Warren Campbell and the events team. Upon entering the building, every architectural element has a story to tell, from an accessible reception desk made from recycled detergent bottles, to window-seat cushion covers crafted out of recycled car seatbelts in our iconic colour scheme.
A fully adaptable series of stylish event spaces, each named after earthly elements, can be utilised for meetings, conferences and private events, booked separately, or in conjunction with one another. They offer state-of-the-art AV facilities including the fastest internet speeds of any purpose-built conference venue in London, to allow worldwide streaming and optional HD videoconferencing when using as a hybrid events venue. We recently refurbished the lower ground floor, which is ideal for exclusive private hire or workshop spaces, and can cater up to 180 guests.
Our environmentally friendly credentials continue to grow as we demonstrate our commitment to an authentically sustainable future for the events industry. Paving a path for others to follow, we continually seek opportunities to reduce unnecessary waste and make a positive impact through leading by example. Consequently, we have been named as the UK’s most sustainable conference and event venue, and we are the first UK venue to receive certification of the NQA Sustainable Development Management Scheme.
Seeing a 50% reduction in utility bills thanks to the introduction of the latest energy saving devices, our venue is a tried and tested advocate of a demonstrable ability to partner sustainable choices with cost effectiveness.
A strict ‘no bottled water’ policy has also prevented one million plastic water bottles ending up in landfill, as we have asserted ourselves as a key champion for the #OneLess campaign which strives to eradicate the single-use plastic culture. Our campaign to Make Plastic History eliminated all single-use plastic from our venue, and we encourage others to remove plastic from their events and venues. Our downloadable ‘Guide to Running a Sustainable Event’ is available to all event organisers who want to plan their event as responsibly as possible, detailing considerations and top tips for reducing waste, sourcing responsible suppliers and educating delegates.
Other initiatives we have developed included distributing over two million wildflower seeds to help the decline of bees in London through our ‘Save The Bees, Go Wild And Sow Your Seeds’ campaign, and combatting Christmas waste with our Conscious Christmas tree. Find out how to celebrate the festive season responsibly with our top tips for Green Tourism members.
Our sustainability heartbeat reaches the culinary depths of the venue, with an in-house water filtration system, organic and locally sourced or fair-trade produce from Eden Caterers, and freshly ground Community2Community Coffee. Menus are regulated and depend upon seasonality, including the first fully vegan DDR package in the UK to be offered to delegates.
Day delegate rates, conference and event packages are available with tailor-made quotes produced by event specialists. For more information or to book an event, visit www.15hatfields.com.
