The Green Meetings certification is specific to the meetings and events industry. It was created to provide confidence to corporate buyers who wanted the reassurance of third-party certification when choosing suppliers. And, to provide meetings and event venues with a way of evidencing their sustainability credentials.
From improving biodiversity, eliminating single-use items and supporting your local community, to embracing the circular economy, embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) solutions and implementing measures to reduce your carbon footprint – you’ll have a simple way to quantify what you’re doing. Apart from it simply being the right thing to do, there’s competitive advantage in showing you’re taking sustainability seriously.

Structured process
Review criteria under each goal, select the actions you have done and add explanation or evidence and don’t worry everything is saved in real time.
Action Plan
Develop your online Action Plan as you progress, add notes, share with colleagues and update when actions are completed.

Every criteria is aligned with the relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals for you to use in your ESG reporting.

Easy to access online process to review the criteria, record your actions, upload evidence, and get ready for your assessment.
Green Meetings assessment process
Fill in the application form with your business and contact details and pay year one membership fees. Annual fees are payable to maintain your Green Meetings certification.
Assign a key contact who can set up other users (max. 20) if required e.g. per department / members of green team. All users will have access to the GreenCheck™ Portal.
Review the 15 Sustainability Goals in which ever order you want, check out the criteria for each of the goals and associated actions.
Select the actions that you have put in place and provide an explanation in the text box, this might include links to relevant pages on your website, or description of actions taken. Where appropriate upload evidence such as policy documents, receipts, supplier information, photos etc.
If you are planning an action or improvements add them to your Action Plan, include notes and if appropriate share with colleagues. Update as actions are completed, provide explanation and upload any supporting evidence.
When you are ready to be assessed click SUBMIT and our assessment team will be notified and your dashboard will be locked until all your evidence has been reviewed and verified. Your assessor will be in contact to discuss your assessment and may request additional information if necessary.
When the assessment is complete you will receive confirmation of your Certification and the award level you have achieved. Your assessment report which will include your scores in each of the goals and recommendations for further actions / improvements.
You will need to be reassessed at least once every three years to maintain your Certification and we will contact you well in advance.
