What’s the deal?
- Thanks to Destination North East England funding, we’re offering fully funded year-one membership of Green Tourism to the first 100 visitor economy businesses to apply successfully – plus 50% and 25% discounts in the second and third years respectively.*
- We’re also offering 25 funded memberships of Green Meetings – the certification tailored specifically for business meeting venues and events providers.
- Membership allows businesses to achieve certification in Green Tourism or Green Meetings at Bronze, Silver, or Gold level.
- What’s more, businesses that successfully submit for assessment by 31 March 2025 only will receive extended fully funded membership until 30 June 2026.

- Standard membership typically ranges from £157.50 to £682.50 (+ VAT) depending on business size, plus a £75 registration fee (+VAT). This means you’ll save anywhere between £232.50 to £757.50 in your first year alone

* Terms and conditions
- Year 1 fees are fully funded through support from Destination North East.
- Years 2 and 3 are available at discounted rates (Year 2: 50% and Year 3: 25%)
- This offer is only open to the first 100 businesses to successfully apply for Green Tourism membership, and the first 25 for Green Meetings
- The incentive is open only to new Green Tourism or Green Meetings members.
The incentive sign-up period is open now. Businesses must apply before 31st March 2025 to qualify for free year one membership. - Regardless of when they sign up, businesses will receive a full year of membership. For those who opt to continue beyond the first year, invoicing will occur on the anniversary of their initial enrolment.
- Businesses that successfully submit for assessment by 31 March 2025 only will receive extended fully funded membership until 30 June 2026.
- The offer is open only to businesses in the areas covered by Destination North East England’s Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs): NewcastleGateshead Initiative, Visit County Durham, Visit Northumberland, Sunderland City Council, North Tyneside Council and South Tyneside Council. Business Type, Activity Centre, B&B / Guest House, Beauty/Spa, Camp Site, Campus Accommodation, Car/Campervan Rental, Caravan & Camping Site, Conference & Events Venue, Corporate Office, Events Management, Exclusive Use Venue, Glamping, Golf Club, Holiday Park, Hostel/Bunkhouse, Hotel, Inn, Lodge, Multi Centre Estates, Restaurant/Café, Retail, Safari Camp, Self Catering, Serviced Apartments, Theatre, Tour Operator, Tours & Experiences, Visitor Attraction, Visitor Information Centre. - Existing Green Tourism or Green Meetings members who leave membership from 1 April 2024 will not be eligible for project funding
